Applying for Registration -
Reciprocal Registration Overview
The regulation of psychology is managed by the regulatory bodies in each province or territory which have their own legislation, bylaws, and regulations. Having a license to practice psychology in any one Canadian province or territory does not automatically permit you to practice psychology in BC, but it may make you eligible for an expedited application. If you are eligible to make a reciprocal application, your training and academic credentials will have already been assessed by the regulatory body in your jurisdiction and will not be re-evaluated by the College of Psychologists of BC.
If you are currently licensed with a Canadian psychology regulatory body please visit our FAQ section before proceeding with your application. If you are currently registered as a registered psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), please also visit our TILMA FAQ section before proceeding with your application. For information about CAP’s registration requirements please visit their website at WWW.CAP.AB.CA.
